The Baltimore Ravens look to continue their success on the road as they take on the Cleveland Browns in their first AFC North divisional matchup on Sunday.
Baltimore sits atop the division with a 4-1 record, but the Browns are only one game behind at 3-2 and are looking to bounce back after suffering a loss last week.
The Ravens have won the past three games, but haven’t faced Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson since 2023. Watson is actually undefeated as the Browns starter against the Ravens in two starts.
Watson leads a surprising Browns team that is only two wins from matching their win total from last season and have traditionally played the Ravens tough over the years. The Ravens’ look to take control of the AFC North and start 5-1 for the fourth time in franchise history.
After the comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Ravens have to feel good about the team’s status heading into Week 6. They are hoping to be closer to full-strength then they have been in weeks.
All eyes were on the status of Lamar Jackson, who is still dealing with a sprained ankle. Fans could see the return of Trey Hendrickson and possibly even the debut of new center Cam Jurgens, but time will tell.
They did have one of the larger injury lists after Wednesday’s practice, with 19 players listed, but only three of them did not practice, including Jackson who also missed Thursday’s practice.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will start for the second week in a row, it was confirmed Friday.
The Browns have not been great offensively, ranking at the bottom of the league, but they do have a couple of playmakers to watch out for. Running back Quinshon Judkins is a hard runner who had 120 yards in two games last year against the Ravens. There is also rookie receiver Denzel Boston, who has 330 yards this season and leads the NFL in yards-per-catch.
Defensively, the Browns have been middle-of-the-pack but have done a good job of keeping opposing teams out of the end zone. They have given up fewer points per game than the Ravens (22.4) and are the fourth-best team at red zone defense percentage at 43%. They are also fourth in the league with 16 sacks, which could be an issue with the Ravens’ shuffling of their offensive line.
If the Ravens end up getting their big-name players back, especially Jackson, then they should be able to take care of the Browns on the road in most likely a close divisional battle.
